Second Avenue is an avenue on the East Side of Manhattan extending from Houston Street in the south to the Harlem River Drive in the north. It has the distinction of being the longest avenue in Manhattan. The avenue passes through Lower East Side, East Village, Gramercy Park, Murray Hill, Upper East Side, Yorkville and Spanish Harlem. In the Lower East Side was traditionally home of many Jewish. Second Avenue maintains this modest architectural character today, despite running through a number of high income areas.
