California Street steeply makes its way from downtown up to Nob Hill, one of San Francisco's most elegant neighborhoods. Here you find graceful hotels, the historic James C. Flood Mansion, upscale apartments, the charming Huntington Park and Grace Cathedral, a French Gothic-style Episcopal cathedral with exquisite stained-glass windows. The California Street cable car line runs from Drumm Street to Van Ness Avenue. It was built in 1878 by the California Street Cable Railroad Company.
