El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro was a 1,600-mile commercial route between Mexico City and San Juan Pueblo, NM from the end of the 16th century to the 19th century. This is the official sign for the 400-mile long stretch on US soil that has been designated as a national historic trail. Its Spanish name translates to English as "The Royal Inland Path".
