Jack Kerouac Alley is a short street connecting Columbus and Grant Avenue. Jack Kerouac (1922-1969) was an American writer and artist, the best known of a group of authors known as the Beat Generation (a term he created). Kerouac enjoyed some degree of popular appeal and inspired many other writers and musicians, including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Morrissey and Jim Morrison. Kerouac's best known works are “On the Road”, The “Dharma Bums”, “Big Sur” and “Visions of Cody”.
