JF Kennedy Boulevard is a street in Philadelphia’s city center parallel to Market Street. It is named after John F. Kennedy (1917-1963), the 31st president of the United States, who served from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. The Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the building of the Berlin Wall, the Space Race, the American Civil Rights Movement and early events of the Vietnam War took place during his presidency.
