“Saint Anne Square”. Receives its name from an ancient convent that lay in this place. It is nowadays a lively place with a multitude of cafés and open-air bars in the Barrio de las Letras (Arts District). It houses Madrid's oldest theater, the Teatro Español (Spanish Theater). Saint Anne was the mother of the Virgin Mary.
