Length: 155 mi. Direction: south-north. New Hampshire Route 16 (NH 16) begins in Portsmouth, and ends in Magalloway Plantation, Maine. The road goes through the counties of Rockingham, Strafford, Carroll, and Coos. The road opened in 1922, is also known by the names Spaulding Turnpike and White Mountain Highway.
