Interstate 77 (I-77) is a highway in the eastern United States that runs for more than 600 miles. The stretch in the state of West Virginia has a length of 187 miles and runs between Bluefield at the Virginia state line and Williamstown at the Ohio state line. The road serves Charleston, the largest city in the state, and crosses the counties of Mercer, Raleigh, Fayette, Kanawha, Jackson, and Wood. It was opened in 1956.
