Interstate 64 (I-64) is a highway in the eastern United States. The stretch in the state of Virginia has an east-west direction and a length of 298 miles. The freeway begins at the West Virginia state line through Covington, and ends in Chesapeake. The road crosses the counties of Alleghany, City of Covington, Rockbridge, Augusta, City of Waynesboro, Albemarle, Louisa, Goochland, Henrico, City of Richmond, New Kent, James City, York, City of Newport News, City of Hampton, City of Norfolk, City of Virginia Beach and City of Chesapeake. It was opened in 1957.
