Interstate 29 (I-29) is a south-north highway in the Midwestern United States that runs for 751 miles from Missouri to North Dakota near the Canadian border. The stretch in South Dakota has a length of 253 miles and runs in the eastern part of the state from near Sioux City to close to New Effington, through Sioux Falls. The route goes through the counties of Union, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Moody, Brookings, Deuel, Hamlin, Codington, Grant and Roberts.
