Interstate 85 (I-85) is a major highway in the southeastern United States. The stretch in South Carolina, with a length of 106.28 miles, serves The Upstate region of the state. The freeway begins at the Georgia state line near Greenville, and ends at the North Carolina state line near Blacksburg. The route, opened in 1959, crosses the counties of Oconee, Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg, and Cherokee.
