Interstate 20 (I-20) is a major highway that runs east-west in the southern part of the United States, from Texas to South Carolina. The stretch in South Carolina runs for 141.50 miles from the Georgia state line to Florence. The highway crosses the counties of Aiken, Lexington, Richland, Kershaw, Lee, Darlington, and Florence. The freeway, opened in 1964, is known as the J. Strom Thurmond Freeway.
