A butt of a joke is an expression they use in Conisbrough, South Yorkshire, England for someone who is always being teased. In 2009 the residents of Butt Hole Road decided to change the name to Archers Way because they did not like being butted. This may have been because youths used to arch their backs when they bent down to moon their bums at midnight. The residents had to pay for the new sign themselves, because the council said the old one ‘was in good order and did not need replacement’.
