When we saw this sign near Luxor, Egypt, in the Valley of the Queens our reactions were unruly. History is a dry and dusty subject – especially when you are riding a camel in the desert. We’ve heard these animals are quite smelly, have large rabbit teeth and are totally un-embraceable, so this sign must mean something else. The Valley of the Queens could be a clue. Possibly a gallant Egyptian pharaoh and his lover are buried in each other’s arms nearby. You never know until you ask.
