This polar bear is looking real mean, but with a name like Gjelder Hele Svalbard that’s probably to be expected. On second thoughts, the Norwegian words translate to “applies to the whole of Svalbard”, which is a collection of tiny islands where horrible people used to hunt whales.
People still live there in frozen settlements with names like Barentsburg and Longyearbyen and are presumable happy with the arrangement. We don’t plan on visiting Svalbard anytime soon. Imagine bumping into a polar bear when dining in a restaurant.
