Not much of interest happens in this suburb of Ashville, Skyland, North Carolina. It comprises a small group of stores and filling stations, and slumbers on hardly aware of Interstate 26 roaring by beyond the forest. The last time the population of several hundred stirred was when someone decided to open a diner.
We decided to pull in at the French Fryz restaurant and check out the menu, seeing as the locals were so excited they renamed a street for it. They can’t be doing badly seeing as they close on Sundays and most holidays. Their burgers looked good cooking, and they serve them with a choice of fryz, ringz, or tater totz on the side.
