The people in Portland, Oregon have some unusual habits. These include pedaling flat-out at railway lines and skipping over without hardly touching them. When the government installed a special triple-rail ‘max track’ line that they could move whole houses on, this upset the cyclists’ rhythm and several wheels were bent. After they threatened to ride hell-bent at politicians’ cars instead, the powers-that-be relented and put up special signs. These worked so well that they are now considering making new ones that show cyclists not falling over.
