The town of Cool, formerly known as Cave Valley, in Eldorado County, California is a popular place to chill out thanks to trees, hiking trails, camping spots and opportunities to run a thirty-one mile marathon up a 7,000-foot elevation assuming something is bugging you. Following functioning as a California Gold Rush coaching stop not much else has happened since. That is, until an early beatnik named Todd Hausman turned up and said, “Hey man this place is cool” and hence the name.
